Your privacy
No account is needed to use Tao.tours. Search and Ask Tao guide matching run in your browser; questions are not sent to an AI provider by this release.
Saved guides, nights and language
Your saved guide choices, Tao Pulse night list and language preference are kept in local browser storage. Clear them with the button below or through your browser settings. They are not synced across devices.
Weather and shared plans
Tao Pulse requests a fixed Koh Tao forecast through our server. It does not ask for your location or send visitor coordinates to MET Norway. A shareable plan link includes selected event IDs and, when set, your trip dates and island base in its URL; anyone with that link can read the selection. Calendar files are downloaded to your device and are not a booking.
Instagram posts
On Koh Tao lately, Instagram content loads only after you choose Load Instagram post. Loading a post connects your browser to Instagram, which may use cookies and process browser and connection information under its own privacy policy. You can instead open the original post directly. We do not download or rehost creator videos.
Hosting and external links
Vercel hosts the website and processes the technical request information needed to serve it. We have not added advertising trackers. Website audience measurement is described below. External operator, venue and source links follow the destination website’s privacy practices.
Updated 13 October 2026.
Website audience measurement
We use Metricool, our existing social reporting service, to measure website visits, page views and traffic sources. A visit sends the page origin and path, browser viewport dimensions, the referring site origin and selected campaign tags. Metricool receives connection information including your IP address, which its documentation says is used for country statistics. This integration sets no analytics cookies or persistent visitor identifiers. Form questions, email addresses, saved guides and other form values are not included. Unknown URL parameters and fragments are removed before sending. Automated QA visits, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are excluded by this integration. Blocking tracking may reduce measurement coverage.
Travel questions
The question composer runs in your browser. Its button opens your email app with a draft addressed to hello@tao.tours; you choose whether to send it. Received enquiries and replies are handled privately for travel assistance. A link click or contact-page view is not evidence that an email was sent, delivered, qualified as a lead or converted to a booking. Do not send sensitive documents or payment details.
