5 days on Koh Tao

A flexible starting point for a first visit, counting arrival and departure days. Adapt it to your ferry times, interests and accommodation.

These are editorial suggestions, not a bookable package. They do not confirm travel times, fees, activity availability or protected connections.

Day 1: Arrive and settle in

Leave your arrival day flexible. Confirm your pier transfer, check in and save your onward travel details. If you have time, explore Sairee Beach or choose a meal near your accommodation. Breeze in Mae Haad is one sourced option; check its current menu and hours.

Day 2: Choose one beach outing

Pick Tanote Bay or Hin Wong Bay rather than rushing between both. Confirm transport, access and the return before leaving. A snorkeling outing is optional and depends on conditions and your experience. If you leave today, prioritise the ferry check-in over an outing.

Day 3: Explore the south, or slow down

Consider John-Suwan viewpoint if the trail and uphill walk suit you. Read the access notes first. Alternatively, spend a relaxed day near your base. Barracuda on the Beach in Chalok is a sourced meal option; confirm the current opening hours.

Day 4: Make room for your main activity

Use this day for an operator-confirmed diving or snorkeling activity, or revisit your preferred beach. Compare experience requirements, equipment, inclusions and cancellation terms. A diving course can require several days: arrange its full schedule before adding these outings.

Day 5: A flexible final day

Keep time for packing, your transfer and ferry check-in. If departure is later, choose something close to your base. Avoid a separately booked boat outing immediately before the departure ferry. If you remain overnight, use this as a spare day for weather or a favourite place.

On your departure day, shorten or skip the suggested outing to allow for your transfer and ferry check-in.

If plans change

Replace an exposed beach or viewpoint outing with a relaxed day near your accommodation. Ask locally about weather and access; do not treat an old photograph as current conditions.
